Leisurely tours can be scheduled throughout the
year by advance appointment. Visitors will see selected rooms in
the Mansion as well as certain Grounds features. The toured areas
of the Mansion consist of the Reception Room, Library, Drawing Room,
Dining Room and Breakfast Room. Each room is furnished and displays
period documents, artwork, and photographs. The Grounds include
the Formal Italian Garden, Rose Garden, Greenhouse, storage Tower,
Pergola, Cut Flower Garden, Cottage, Ryan Mausoleum, Rives Family
Cemetery, Swan Lake Pond, and Estate Railroad Station.
Other parts of the Grounds and outbuildings will be opened as they
are restored. Thomas Fortune Ryan's Racetrack is currently under
restoration and is now available to the public for exhibition steeplechase
and flat racing events.

Directions
Oak Ridge Estate is located between Charlottesville and
Lynchburg (approximately 35 miles from both) in Nelson County, Virginia.
In Nelson County, proceed north of Colleen or south of Lovingston
to Route 653 from 29 South. Route 653 is also Oak Ridge Road. Proceed
2.4 miles on Oak Ridge Road to driveway entrance on right (marked
by an open gate and Oak Ridge sign).
